Herbert Thoennes Jr., 56

Herbert E. Thoennes Jr., 56, Sartell, died December 30, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Paul.

Herbert was born June 17, 1953 in Parkers Prairie to Herbert and Isabella (Schmidt) Thoennes Sr. He married Deb Bronson on December 12, 1986 in Alexandria. He lived most of his life in Parkers Prairie and the past four years in Sartell.

Herbert was an owner/operator for Polman Transfer. He enjoyed time with family, barbecuing, football, and baking cookies for his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Deb, of Sartell; sons and daughter, Shawn (Malinda) of Sartell, Tony (Rachel) of St. Cloud, Luke of Aspen, CO, Jenny of St. Cloud, and Jeremy of Sartell; brothers and sisters, Ralph of Barnesville, Florence Scott of Fargo, ND, Roger of Richfield, Lornie of Fargo, ND, LeRoy of Urbank, Bernice Meissner of Cottage Grove, Maggie Thoennes of West St. Paul, and Maxine Reynolds of Abilene, TX; grandchildren, Thomas, Ashley, Logan, Jacynda, Griffin, Caleb, Conner, Ava and Landon; and his dog, Charlie.

Herbert was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Norbert; and dog, Sheldon.

Mass of Christian Burial was held January 4 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud with the Rev. Bernard Gruenes officiating. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery in Sartell.

Memorials are preferred to the donor’s choice.
