Local Slumberland donates beds to families

This holiday season, the Alexandria Slumberland store is working to provide families in need with new beds through its annual Making Homes for the Holidays program.

This December, Slumberland Furniture as a whole will donate approximately 1,300 mattress and box spring sets to nonprofit organizations throughout the communities it serves.

The Alexandria Slumberland store will be donating eight beds this year to The Caring and Sharing Room, a charity organization that serves the Douglas County community by providing basic household furnishings to families in need.

“For far too many families, a warm bed has become a luxury, especially in today’s tough economic environment. With Making Homes for the Holidays, Slumberland is working to ensure that everyone in our communities gets a healthy night’s sleep,” said Ken Larson, Slumberland’s owner.

The beds will be loaded for delivery to area families at the Alexandria Slumberland warehouse.
