H. Dan Ness of Alexandria was recently recognized with a Lifetime Membership award from the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants (MNCPA).
Ness, mayor of Alexandria, has been a member of the MNCPA since 1963. He is a CPA and president of H. Dan Ness, Inc. in Alexandria. The Lifetime Membership award is given to MNCPA members who have retired in the preceding year and have generously contributed their time and talents to the MNCPA.
Ness has been involved in several MNCPA committees, including community services, cooperation with bankers, education and local practitioners. He was charter president of the MNCPA’s Mid-State Chapter. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Currently, Ness is on the board of directors for the Alexandria Extrusion Company, is second vice president of the League of Minnesota Cities, president of the Lakes Area Economic Development Authority, president of the Alexandria Economic Development Authority, and treasurer of the West Central Chapter University of Minnesota Alumni Association.
He received a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Minnesota in 1960.
