Earning honors at state
Nine Special Olympics bowlers compete at the state meet

Justin Hanson-Simmons and Matt Froemming brought home bowling honors.
Nine Alexandria Special Olympic bowlers represented the area at the State Special Olympics Bowling Tournament in Bloomington recently.
Ryan Frick, Casey Ohren, Natasha Randall and Tammy Zarbok all took home gold medals for their performances. Anne Friederichs and Matt Froemming finished in second place in their divisions. Heather Botner earned a bronze medal and Justin Hanson-Simmons and Sonja Nichols each brought home fourth-place ribbons.
The state competition ends a successful bowling season for the area’s Special Olympians. Alexandria Special Olympics swimming practice begins on January 6 from 6:15-7:30 p.m. at Discovery Middle School.
