Alexandria YMCA to move office
Effective January 1, 2010, the Alexandria Area YMCA office will be changing its address as it relocates to 121 5th Avenue West (the corner of 5th and Fillmore).
Effective January 1, 2010, the Alexandria Area YMCA office will be changing its address as it relocates to 121 5th Avenue West (the corner of 5th and Fillmore).
The office is moving because additional professional staff will be added in the upcoming months. The YMCA is also expecting more activity after its charter membership campaign kicks off in early March.
“Due to the large number of expected visitors, the YMCA felt the need to become more visible and accessible,” said YMCA Director Jeff Bartholomew.
The new office location has ample staff offices and meeting rooms, welcome center membership and program registration counter area as well as ample off-street parking, he added.
A city parking lot is located directly across the street and the new location will be convenient for downtown foot traffic as well, Bartholomew said.
In addition to the address change, the YMCA phone number will also change to (320) 834-9622.

The YMCA’s new 56,000-square-foot facility along County Road 82 is still under construction and is expected to open in June.
