If you like books and wine, Carlos Creek Winery is hosting a “Wine, Women and Song” book club.
The club will meet the second Sunday of every month from 4 to 6 p.m. at the winery.
The group rotates discussion and refreshment leaders, and at the close of each meeting, attempts to identify what type of wine most perfectly pairs with each month’s book.
Here’s a look at the next few meetings:
Sunday, January 10 – the group will discuss “Snow Blind,” by P.J. Tracy.
Sunday, February 7 (this meeting was changed to the first Sunday because the second Sunday is Valentine’s Day) – the group will discuss “Julia’s Chocolates,” by Cathy Lamb.
Sunday, March 14 – “The Heretic’s Daughter,” by Kathleen Kent.
New members are always welcome.

Holiday concert plan for this Saturday
On Saturday, December 19 at 3 p.m., the Rainbow Strings will perform at Carlos Creek Winery.
The Rainbow Strings, a group of 17 local string players, will be giving a special holiday concert at the winery.
In addition, Gregory Michael Bruce, who has been noted as a customer favorite, will perform from 2 to 3 p.m. and then again from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Dog sled rides available
Now that the area has officially received some snow, there have been a number of requests for dog sled rides, noted the winery’s owners, who added that, “Yes, they will be offering them again.”
The tentative first date for rides has been set for Saturday, December 26.
Rides will also be provided on Sundays with a reduced rate for families.
