Emma Sieling, a Jefferson High School senior, was nominated and chosen to serve as President of the Central Division/Minnesota Association of Student Councils (CMASC) for the 2009-2010 academic year.

MASC is a statewide organization that provides high school and middle school advisors and students with an opportunity to participate in leadership activities to better themselves and their student councils.

Through region, state and national meetings and conventions, students get the opportunity to participate in the governmental process, interact with students from other schools and develop strong social and leadership skills.

Division presidents meet several times each year to assist and make recommendations to the executive board and to discuss issues pertaining to MASC.

Sieling is also responsible for planning and orchestrating division meetings and regional conventions; maintaining communication within the division; attending state division president meetings; and ensuring the division student council presidents have received the MASC newsletter.

At the state convention she must attend the division presidents meetings, conduct division meetings, present the division flag during the opening general session, present division the report during business meetings, and serve as a contact and possibly facilitate hot topics discussions.
