Among the 86 winners, there was one Minnesota winery awarded for its wines – Carlos Creek Winery.
This is Carlos Creek Winery’s second consecutive year being recognized by the American Wine Society. Last year’s award-winning wines included the Cabernet Sauvignon, Peach Street, Apple Blueberry and Hot Dish Red.
This year, Cabernet Sauvignon, Peach Street, Apple Wine and Wobegon White took home the awards. These are the second awards for Cabernet Sauvignon, Peach Street and Wobegon White and the fourth award for the Apple Wine.
Carlos Creek Winery is located in the Alexandria lakes viticultural area. For the past 10 years, it has been offering a distinct variety of wines made from both California and Minnesota grapes.
The winery also features a unique selection of apple wines, all of which include the popular University of Minnesota apple variety, honey crisp.
