Letter - If you suspect abuse, report it

Child abuse is a heavy topic throughout the United States. A child cannot control the abuse that is brought upon them.

To the editor:

Child abuse is a heavy topic throughout the United States. A child cannot control the abuse that is brought upon them. Children often are left feeling hopeless and unwanted and this can affect them throughout their lifetime. That is why as a U.S. citizen it is your job to help these children who are being abused. Help stop this act of violence against children by reporting signs of abuse and neglect.

Everyone has the opportunity to be a mandated reporter. If you suspect that a child is being abused or neglected, you can either call Social Services or your local law enforcement agency. You will be an anonymous person. You never know when you could be that one person who can change a child’s life.
