Battle of the Bands has begun at Club 1

Alexandria’s youth center Club 1’s annual “Battle of the Bands” is once again under way.

Alexandria’s youth center Club 1’s annual “Battle of the Bands” is once again under way.

The battle will take place over a three-month period.

The first round took place in October with the second round scheduled for next Saturday, November 21.

The second round is set to start at 6 p.m. and should end around midnight. The cost to watch the bands is $10 per person.

During the first round, nine different bands participated. There were four bands advancing to the final round, which is set for Saturday, December 5 The bands advancing included Mark This Day, My Dear Martyr, Summon the Tempest and When Men Rise Up at the Sound of Birds, which won People’s Choice.

During the second round of competition next Saturday, there will be 10 new bands performing, including the following (in no particular order):

•A Bridge From Normal from Fergus Falls.

•A Written Prophecy from Willmar.

•H.O.L. from Detroit Lakes.

•The Vine and the Branches from Willmar.

•The Dawn of My Death from St. Cloud.

•Picnic on the Pyre from Palisade.

•Due for a Verdict from Grand Forks, North Dakota.

•Visions Foreshadow from Roseau.

•Joshua Larson from Willmar.

•Omari from Alexandria.

The top three scoring bands, along with the winner of People’s Choice, will also advance to the final round of the Battle of the Bands, slated for Saturday, December 5.

Club 1’s Battle of the Bands has been an excellent opportunity for local and regional bands to showcase their live show, gain recognition, make new friends and receive insight for musical growth, said organizers of the event.
