A purse was ripped off a woman’s arm while she stood on Main Street of Osakis last week.
According to Osakis Police Chief Mark Gilson, Nicole Carlson of Baxter and another woman were standing outside the Osakis bowling alley at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Monday, November 2 when two juvenile males approached the women, asking Carlson to buy them beer.
When she refused, one of the juveniles grabbed her purse and ripped it from her arm, breaking the strap, and ran.
The Osakis Police Department was contacted and officer Calvin Uhl responded. After taking information from the women, Uhl put together a photo line-up from which one of the juveniles was identified.
Uhl then went to the residence of the individual, but no one answered the door, according to Gilson, so the officer obtained a search warrant.
The two suspects were found at the residence in question, along with the stolen purse that still contained the cash, credit cards and identification described by the owner.
Both suspects, a 16-year-old Alexandria male and a 16-year-old Osakis male, were taken into custody. The Alexandria juvenile was transported to a juvenile facility in Moorhead where he faces charges for simple robbery and minor consumption.
