Two-vehicle accident sends one to hospital Saturday
A two-vehicle accident Saturday evening northwest of Alexandria sent one person to the hospital.
A two-vehicle accident Saturday evening northwest of Alexandria sent one person to the hospital.
Denis Schneider, 73, of Melrose, was taken by North Ambulance to the Douglas County Hospital. As of Tuesday morning, he was listed in stable condition. Schneider was a passenger in a 2006 Chevy pickup driven by Samuel Schneider, 47, also of Melrose. Samuel Schneider was reportedly not injured, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
The other driver, Vernard Trenne, 70, of Alexandria, was not transported to the hospital, according to the sheriff’s office. He was driving a 2003 Ford pickup.
The accident happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of County Roads 8 and 40. Those responding to the scene included the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, North Ambulance, Garfield First Responders, Brandon First Responders and the State Patrol.
