A trip for two
Two area volleyball teams are heading for state tournament action as Alexandria captured the Section 8AAA title Friday night and Parkers Prairie won the Section 6A crown on Saturday night.

Alexandria’s Katie Brown held the Section 8AAA volleyball championship trophy high for all to see while teammates celebrated after the Cardinals captured top honors in the tournament, sending them on to state. The Cardinals defeated Moorhead in three games.
Two area volleyball teams are heading for state tournament action as Alexandria captured the Section 8AAA title Friday night and Parkers Prairie won the Section 6A crown on Saturday night. The Panthers’ trip will be the first in school history for Parkers Prairie, while the Cardinals are making their 10th appearance at state. Both squads open tournament play tomorrow, Thursday, at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
