Exchange students carve first pumpkins

Kine Berntsen and Solveig Hansen, both exchange students from Norway who are attending Jefferson High School in Alexandria this year, experienced their first pumpkin carving at a recent event held for area exchange students. The girls and their host families, the Todd and Tracy Snyder and Jeff and Penny Anderson families, also enjoyed a hay ride and making caramel apples – activities that neither of the girls had done before. For information on hosting an exchange student, call local representative Malinda Olhoft at 1-888-389-1114.
