Carlos Creek Winery in Alexandria is proud to present Patchouli, an Indie-folk duo, to play at its Halloween extravaganza this weekend.
The duo will perform on Saturday, October 31 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the winery. The Halloween extravaganza will run from noon to 6 p.m.
Guests are encouraged to come in costume. Best costume will win a six-pack of wine. The winner will be announced at 5:30 p.m.
Haunted tours of the wine cave will take place at 1, 3 and 5 p.m.
Patchouli’s sound has been described as “Joni Mitchell meets the acoustic Santana.”
Performing blazing “nuevo-menco” style pieces on steel string guitars to inspiring power folk mantras, Patchouli’s energy and chemistry will leave audience members feeling uniquely uplifted and transformed, according to organizers of the event.
Both members of the duo, Bruce Hecksel and Julie Patchouli, studied at The Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, Illinois.
Together, they are a songwriting powerhouse duo with 12 CDs released, more than 1,800 performances and more than a half a million miles touring under their belts.
