AN ORDINANCE AMENDING

ORDINANCE NO. 627,

2ND SERIES,

ESTABLISHING THE

COMPENSATION OF THE

COUNCIL MEMBERS AND MAYOR

OF THE CITY OF ALEXANDRIA

The City Council of the City of Alexandria does ORDAIN:

SECTION I. That Ordinance No. 627, 2nd Series, be amended by revising the following:

Sec. 2.40. Salary of the Mayor and Council Members. Salaries of the Mayor and City Council Members, effective January 1, 2010, is hereby fixed as follows, which amount is deemed reasonable.

Subd. 1. That the compensation to be payable to the duly elected Mayor for the City of Alexandria shall be the sum of $7,635 for 2010, the same as 2009, and shall be payable in equal quarterly installments.

Subd. 2. The compensation payable to the duly elected members of the City Council of the City of Alexandria shall be $5,885 for 2010, the same as 2009, and shall be payable quarterly.

Subd. 3. Payment of the salaries provided for in this Ordinance shall become effective January 1, 2010.

SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication.

ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Alexandria this 26th day of October, 2009, by the following vote:
