A “Halloween Hop” will take place next Friday, October 30.
The first-ever event, sponsored by the Douglas County Historical Society and a new organization – the Red Willow Arts Coalition (RWAC), will run from 7 to 11 p.m. (organizers said these are lucky numbers!).
Music will be provided by the local band, 57 Chevy, (more lucky numbers, said the organizers).
This fundraising event, which will take place at In the Pines on Highway 27 West, just past the Interstate, will include:
•Freaky Friday fabulous food, which will be catered by Depot Express.
•Boo-dacious beverages (cash bar).
•Delectably dangerous dancing.
•Cool and crazy costume contest.
Tickets are $15 per person or $25 per couple. Advance tickets are available at Trumm Drug in downtown Alexandria, Elden’s Food Fair and Douglas County Historical Society.
Proceeds will benefit the new research and visitor center being planned at the Douglas County Historical Society, which will be located just south of the Knute Nelson House. RWAC was founded to bring more community events to the Alexandria area.
