An Introduction to Stormwater Ponds Seminar is set for Wednesday, October 28 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Osakis Community Center.
The free event is sponsored by the Sauk River Watershed District.
Stormwater ponds have become the icon of development over the past years, according to the watershed district.
You see them along roadways, in neighborhoods, and in business complexes. They are one solution to environmental changes shaped by progress and increasing impervious surfaces.
The watershed district invites residents to discuss the role that stormwater ponds play in reducing run-off and pollution to lakes, streams and wetlands.
Experts will discuss why stormwater ponds are chosen, the design basics, and maintenance issues that arise from using stormwater ponds.
The presenter will be Thomas Klemenhagen from Landteam, Inc.
If you are interested in attending this free seminar and discussion, call or e-mail to register before October 23, (320) 352-2231, adam@srwdmn.org.
