Myron James “Jim” Curtis of Branson, Missouri, went to be with our heavenly Father on September 4, 2009 at the age of 72.
Jim was born September 25, 1936 to Andrew and Phena Curtis in Osakis. He graduated from Osakis High School in 1954. Jim was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, LoRita Roquette, on December 29, 1956.
After finishing his tour of duty with the United States Army, Jim attended the Brown Institute in Minneapolis. He lived most of his life as a businessman, working for IBM and then owning businesses in the Branson, Missouri area for many years.
He took great pride in his businesses, where he spent most of his time. Jim’s passion was his family. He enjoyed reading and traveling with his wife. However, his greatest joy was to fly.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
Jim is survived by his wife of 52 years, LoRita; sons, Scott Curtis of Galena, MO, Steven Curtis of Branson, Kevin (Debbie) Curtis of Walnut Shade, MO; daughter, Betty Wilson of Springfield, MO; 10 grandchildren, Angela (Matthew) Coy, Amber Wilson, Heather, Emily, Scott, Lacie, Dallas, Clayton and Gage Curtis; brothers, Leon (Doris) Curtis of Osakis, Keith (Vange) Curtis of Grasston; sisters, Bev (Earl) Thompson of Clarks Grove and Linda (Gary) Johnson of Paynesville; and countless other people he considered family members.
Funeral services for Jim were held September 8 at Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson. Burial followed at Ozark Memorial Park in Branson. Pallbearers were his sons and grandsons.
Jim will be greatly missed by all.
