During the month of October, volunteers across the country will be celebrating National RSVP Month. RSVP stands for the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, which is organized through the Corporation for National Service.

The corporation also includes the Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion programs.

RSVP is operated and sponsored by West Central Minnesota Communities Action, Inc. It is the mission of the program to place senior volunteers in meaningful and productive volunteer opportunities within each community.

Volunteers are dedicated to positions at food shelves, health care facilities, senior dining and home delivered meals, historical societies, hospitals, reader’s theater groups, schools and several other non-profit organizations.

Do you want to volunteer? The RSVP Program has more than 88 stations to choose from. The only requirement is that you are older than 55 and you volunteer at a non-profit organization. You can make a difference in your community by volunteering.

To participate or for more information about the RSVP program, contact Randi Bryan-Pajari at West Central Minnesota Communities Action, Inc. at (218) 685-4486 or randip@
