Benefit planned for Degen Meyer
A benefit for 4-month-old Degen Meyer is set for Saturday, October 17.
A benefit for 4-month-old Degen Meyer is set for Saturday, October 17 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hoffman Community Center in Hoffman. He is the infant son of Edan and Sarah (Thorstad) Meyer of New Zealand, formerly of Douglas County, and the grandson of LeRoy and Sylvia Thorstad of Douglas County.
Degen was recently diagnosed with cancer after doctors discovered a malignant tumor attached to his liver. He will require 28 weeks of chemotherapy and radiation. The benefit will help defray medical costs. Supplemental funds will be available through Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
