A retreat to discover insights from the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous will be held Friday through Sunday, October 9-11 at Mount Carmel on Lake Carlos. The retreat will be led by Paul F., a recovering alcoholic who has been teaching the “Big Book” for the past 20 years.
The retreat will take participants through the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) as it was originally done in the 1940s. During that time in AA, members had a 75 to 83 percent success rate in their recovery with this method.
The retreat is for everyone, as many people suffer from some type of addiction – alcohol, food, gambling, sex, drugs, negative self-talk, co-dependency, relationship addiction and other addictions. The goal is to gain freedom from the addictions that affect your life negatively.
Rates for the weekend include meals and housing. Those who live in the area receive a commuter rate.
