Throughout the 2008-2009 school year, Elden’s Food Fair in Alexandria participated in a program called Register Tapes for Education (RTFE) to help provide much-needed school equipment for area schools.
“We run this program to help provide much needed educational equipment that goes into the classrooms of our customer’s children,” said Elliot Christensen of Elden’s Food Fair. “Schools, parents and friends save our register tapes and exchange the total value for free teaching tools from a catalog of over 2,000 items. This program is our way of enhancing the education of our youth and thanking our customers for their shopping loyalty.”
The program is under way for the 2009-2010 school year and continues through March 2010.
Through the RTFE program during the 2008-2009 school year, area schools earned valuable free educational equipment valued at $14,665.50.
