Knute Nelson plans Fall Festival Friday

Knute Nelson in Alexandria will host its annual Fall Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, October 2.

Knute Nelson in Alexandria will host its annual Fall Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, October 2.

The event is an opportunity to welcome the fall season and contribute to an annual fundraiser hosted by the Friends of Knute.

A lunch of tacos-in-a-bag, barbecue sandwiches, chips, beverages and dessert will be available for purchase. The Fall Festival will also feature a bake sale, silent auction, vendor fair and the Toad Tracks Book Fair.

Proceeds of this event will be put toward the purchase of a handicap-accessible bus for the tenants of Nelson Gables.

The purchase of the bus would give tenants opportunities for greater community involvement and socialization, according to Knute Nelson leaders.

The Douglas County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will be providing supplemental support for all funds raised through this event.

For more information on this event, and how you can be involved, contact Judy Thielke, volunteer coordinator for Knute Nelson, at (320) 763-1162.
