To the editor:

It is membership time for the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 7, Alex Unit. I am membership chairman for the Alex Unit this year.

You may join if you are a mother, wife, sister, daughter, granddaughter, great-granddaughter, or great-great-granddaughter of an American Legion member and veteran. Females who served in conflict can join both the legion and the auxiliary. Eligibility also applies to step and adopted relatives.

We are looking for both new and old members. Eligibility dates from World War I and II, Korean War, Vietnam, Granada/Lebanon, Panama and the Persian Gulf War.

We meet the fourth Tuesday of each month at the VFW in Alexandria at 7 p.m. We want to always remember all who are serving our country.
