Bertha motorcycle driver injured in Todd County crash
A 59-year-old Bertha man suffered life-threatening injuries Friday night while driving his motorcycle.
A 59-year-old Bertha man suffered life-threatening injuries Friday night while driving his motorcycle.
Roger E. Hagerman, 59, was northbound on Highway 71 in Todd County at about 9:30 p.m. when the crash happened.
A driver ahead of him, Steven P. Richter of Verndale, was making a left turn onto Todd County Road 73 with his Ford Taurus.
An unknown vehicle behind Richter passed on the right and Hagerman attempted to pass the Taurus on the left when he struck the driver’s door, according to the State Patrol.
Hagerman, who was not wearing a helmet, flew off the motorcycle. He was taken to the Tri-County Hospital in Wadena and later airlifted to North Memorial Hospital in the Twin Cities where he is listed in critical condition, according to the State Patrol.
No other injuries were reported.
