Alexandria JV results

JV1 volleyball

The JV1 girls’ volleyball team traveled to Moorhead Tuesday night, where they fell 22-25, 25-17, 7-14.

At the net for the night, Rachel Thompson had six kills and right behind her was Cameron Swedberg with five kills. Both Laurel Thompson and Quinn Kragenbring had five set assists apiece.

Shanee Herd did well, putting up 16 digs for the team. Danielle Warren did a nice job serving with three ace serves.

9th grade volleyball

Alexandria dominated Moorhead 25-13, 25-13, 15-11 to win the match with strong serving and a solid offense.

Nicole Canavati found a rhythm and aced serves. Jenni Wild and Danielle Strater helped the offense with five digs apiece.

Erin Ann Schueler and Jazmin Roste each had three kills at the net. Assisting them were Canavati with seven assists and Allie Noetzelman with three.

JV tennis

Brainerd defeated Alexandria 6-1, with first singles Kristen Sjostrand picking up the only Cardinal victory 6-4, 1-6, 7-5 over Kylee Kunde.

At second singles, Rachel Minnerath fell 7-6 (1), 7-6 (4), Jessica Larson fell 6-1, 6-4 at third singles and Becca Illies fell 6-3, 6-2 at fourth singles.

At first doubles, Brittney Holm and Elli Thill fell 6-3, 6-4, Kelli Montbriand and Jennifer DeCock fell at second doubles 2-6, 7-6, 7-4 and at third doubles, Jenna Larson and Brittany Barrett fell 4-6, 6-0, 7-5.

JV1 girls’ soccer

Alexandria edged Fergus Falls 1-0 Tuesday night, with the only goal being scored by Kine Berntson on an assist by Lauren Johnson from 12 yards out.

Julia Bennett returned to action after missing two weeks with a knee injury to earn the shutout.

JV2 girls’ soccer

The JV2 girls’ soccer team evened their record at 4-4 with an 8-2 victory over the Melrose Dutchmen Tuesday.

The Cards trailed 2-1 early, but turned up the heat in the second half. Brenna Skinner had three goals while Gabby Koel had a pair.

Anne Carlson and Jess Syvrud also tallied goals with Melrose scoring another goal for the Cards. Syvrud had one assist while Jess Larum had five assists.

Melrose 4 Alexandria 3

JV2 boys lost 4-3 to Melrose.
