A Long Prairie driver suffered serious injuries Tuesday after she was ejected from the vehicle during a rollover.

The crash happened just before 7 p.m. on 241st Avenue near Long Prairie about a half-mile south of Todd County Road 48.

Bobbi Jo Monti was northbound when she lost control of her Chevrolet Cavalier and skidded into the ditch, according to the Todd County Sheriff’s Office.

The car rolled and Monti, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected. When rescuers arrived, they found Monti pinned under the car.

The Long Prairie Fire and Rescue used the “Jaws of Life” and airbags to lift the car up and remove Monti.

She was transported to the Long Prairie Hospital and later air lifted to the Hennepin County Medical Center because of the extent of her serious injuries.

The Todd County Sheriff’s Office thanked the motorists who stopped at the scene to help, which included a group from Pete’s County Market in Alexandria.
