Nelson earns second at state fair talent contest
Josie Nelson, daughter of Brian and Linda Nelson of Alexandria, had a successful trip to the Minnesota State Fair.
Josie Nelson, daughter of Brian and Linda Nelson of Alexandria, had a successful trip to the Minnesota State Fair, where she played guitar and sang. After placing first in the preteen division at the Polk County Fair talent contest in July, she advanced to the semifinals at the state fair. She placed first in the semifinals and advanced to the finals. Nelson placed second overall in the state at the finals, which took place September 5. That second place finish gave her the opportunity to perform on September 6 on the state fair grandstand. Nelson is a 5th grader at Voyager Elementary School in Alexandria.
