Zach Anderson, a senior tuba player at Jefferson High School in Alexandria, was recently appointed to the Minnesota Music Educators (MME) All-State Concert Band. He is the son of Rich and Julie Anderson of Alexandria.
Anderson was selected to the band after an audition last March that included scales, etudes and sight reading. He was one of four tubas selected from Minnesota for the group.
In August, Anderson attended a week-long All-State camp at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. His group performed a concert on August 8 as a culmination of the week’s events.
The All-State Concert Band will perform again in February at the MME midwinter conference in Minneapolis.
