Crash on County Road 22 sends two adults, two juveniles to hospital

Two Alexandria women and two juveniles were transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash Tuesday evening.
The head-on crash happened shortly before 6 p.m. on County Road 22, just east of County Road 104.
The drivers of the vehicles, Mildred Margaret Benzinger, 77, and April Terese Revering, 33, were taken by North Ambulance to Douglas County Hospital.
As of Wednesday morning, Benzinger was listed in serious condition at Hennepin County Medical Center.
Revering, along with her two passengers, Anna Marie Revering, 4, and Lauren Sue Revering, 2, were treated and released.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, one of the vehicles, which was traveling eastbound, crossed the center line into the westbound lane.
The Minnesota State Patrol assisted at the scene.
