Alexandria resident and current UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar now knows when he will defend his title.
UFC officials announced that Lesnar’s next fight is set for UFC 106 on November 21 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. He will defend the belt against Shane Carwin.
Carwin, at 6’3” and 262 pounds, comes the closest to matching Lesnar in stature of anyone he has fought in the UFC. Carwin is 11-0 in UFC bouts and is also a former NCAA wrestling champion. His title came at the Division II level at the Colorado School of Mines, where he was also an All-American football player.
Lesnar will enter the fight with a 4-1 UFC record. He is coming off a dominant performance against Frank Mir is his last title fight.
