Jefferson to celebrate homecoming

Following is the schedule of events for the upcoming homecoming activities at Jefferson High School (JHS) in Alexandria.

Sunday, September 20 – Powder puff volleyball game at 5 p.m. in the JHS gymnasium. Powder puff football game at JHS Citizens Field at 7 p.m.

Monday, September 21 – Homecoming royalty coronation at JHS gym at 1:30 p.m.

Friday, September 25 – Education Foundation 3rd annual Hall of Fame luncheon at Broadway Ballroom in Alexandria from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Hall of Fame inductees include A.A. “Cap” Paciotti, Murrae Freng and Bob Rader. Tickets are $25. Contact Susan Scarborough at (320) 762-7748 for information.

Pep fest at JHS at 1:30 p.m.

Saturday, September 26: Noon – Homecoming community parade. Parade participation forms are due before noon on Monday, September 21 to Sheree Oberg at JHS. Businesses, organizations, and students are all welcome to participate.

A community pep rally will follow the parade on the front lawn at JHS. Cash prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place student floats.

12:30 p.m. – A tailgate party will begin at Citizens Field. Brats, burgers, hot dogs, chips, pop and cookies will be served. Cost is $6 per person with ice cream cones $2. Featured speakers include Murrae Freng and Cardinal fall athletic head coaches.

3 p.m. – Cardinal football homecoming game versus the Bemidji Lumberjacks at Citizens Field. There will be a presentation of royalty and recognition of alumni football players at halftime.

9 p.m. to midnight – Homecoming dance for 10th to 12th grade students at the JHS gym.
