New year, new school
A brand new school year began Tuesday at a brand new school – Woodland Elementary in Alexandria.
A brand new school year began Tuesday at a brand new school – Woodland Elementary in Alexandria. Principal Scott Heckert greeted the students as they got off the bus. About 510 students are enrolled at the school. Here is the average number of students per classroom: kindergarten – 21.7, 1st grade – 24, 2nd grade – 21, 3rd grade – 24.7, 4th grade – 26.7, 5th grade – 21 and 6th grade – 24.7. The school also houses Community Education, Early Childhood Education and the district offices.
