Volunteer workshop offered
Lakes Area Volunteers in Action (LAVA) is sponsoring a workshop for volunteer coordinators on Tuesday, September 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Governor’s Room at Nelson Gables, 1220 Nokomis Street in Alexandria.

Janene Riedeman, educational speaker, has been directing volunteer programs for more than 20 years and is currently the director of volunteer services at St. Cloud Hospital, where she oversees 900 volunteers in the adult and junior volunteer programs.
Riedeman will share ideas on “Marketing Your Program.”
The second speaker is Heather Thormodson. She is employed by the Girl Scout Council as the volunteer development manager. Her presentation is “Retaining Your Volunteers.”
