BURGEN SUNRISE, 3RD ADDITION

RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT

ALEXANDRIA, MINNESOTA

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the City of Alexandria, at the Alexandria City Hall, Alexandria, Minnesota, until 11:00 a.m. on September 23, 2009 at which time all bids will be opened and read aloud for the furnishing of all materials, skill, labor and all else necessary for the Burgen Sunrise 3rd Addition Residential Development project in Alexandria, Minnesota.

Major items include the following approximate quantities:

20,950 CY – Common Excavation

1,720 Ton – Bituminous Pavement

2,530 CY – Aggregate Base-Class 5

1,020 LF – Storm Sewer (12”-36”)

3,098 LF – Sanitary Sewer

1 EA – Sanitary Sewer Lift Station

3,720 LF – Watermain

6.5 AC – Seeding

Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or a bidders bond acceptable to the City of Alexandria in an amount of at least five (5%) percent of the total amount of the bid, payable without condition to the City of Alexandria. In case the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract or to give bond as required by law within the specified number of days after the award of the contract, such check or bond shall be forfeited as liquidated damages.

Copies of the Plans and Specifications are on file and may be obtained from the Engineer, at Widseth Smith Nolting & Associates, Inc., 610 Fillmore St., Alexandria, Minnesota, upon deposit of $50.00 which is not refundable.

All bids must be submitted on the official forms, prepared by the Engineer for that purpose. Bids shall be directed to the City Administrator, securely sealed and endorsed upon the outside with a brief statement as to the work for which the bid is made.

The City of Alexandria reserves the right to hold all bids for a period of one hundred twenty (120) days after the scheduled closing time set for receiving bids and to reject any and all bids and to award the contract as the City deems in their best interest.
