Lorraine was born January 12, 1922 in Benson to Albert and Betsy (Berg) Bagstad, the fourth of nine children. She graduated from Benson High School in 1939 and after graduation, Lorraine remained in the Benson area, working in a café until she met and married Donald Irving Reents in 1946. They lived on a farm near Villard and raised four children, D. Gary, Randy A., Kathleen I. and Lisa Lorane. They were married for 20 years before Don passed away in 1967.
Lorraine went to work at Glenwood Retirement Village in 1969 and worked there for 28 years until she retired in 1997 at age 75. In 1979, Lorraine married C. Harold Daniels, a longtime family acquaintance and they were married 30 years. They farmed together, taking care of the milk cows until 1994 when Harold sold the farm and retired.
Lorraine enjoyed playing cards and doing her crossword puzzles. She loved to dance and she and Harold went to many different places, dancing up a storm. For the past 10 years, Lorraine was a Winter Texan, spending the winters in Mission, Texas where she and Harold own a trailer. She loved sitting on the deck of her trailer greeting everyone as they walked by. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially fresh bread, caramel rolls and strawberry pies. She enjoyed having a lot of company drop in for her baked treats and fresh coffee, but her passion was her garden, flowers and yard.
Lorraine has been a member of Villard and Grove Lake Lutheran Churches for 60 years.
She is survived by her husband, C. Harold Daniels of rural Glenwood; children, D. Gary Reents (Jane) of Villard, Randy Reents of Villard, Kathleen “Kathy” (Marty Hanbury) Reents of Annapolis, MD and Lisa (Jeff) Lindquist of Maple Grove; stepchildren, Rick (Stephanie) Daniels of Cranbrook, BC, Carol Jean (Michael) Hurley of Spokane, WA, David (Carol Louise) Daniels of Hayden, ID, Dennis (friend, Ann) Daniels of Glenwood, Debbie (Wes) Medalen of Glenwood, Danny (Val) Daniels of Alexandria, Dana (Pete) Dutchak of Hastings, and Dawn (Larry) Berglund of Nelson; seven grandchildren; 21 step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 39 stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Kathleen “Sis” Klug of Garfield; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
