Tri-State Manufacturers' tour features wind energy

The September 1 breakfast meeting of Tri-State Manufacturers’ Association will feature an up close look at a wind turbine and a presentation about Scientia Wind’s experience in the wind industry in this region.

The September 1 breakfast meeting of Tri-State Manufacturers’ Association will feature an up close look at a wind turbine and a presentation about Scientia Wind’s experience in the wind industry in this region.

Jim Peterson, president of the Fergus Falls company, will lead the presentation. The breakfast meeting will begin at 7:30 a.m. at Du-Ha, Inc. in Fergus Falls.

The meeting will include a tour of Du-Ha, Inc., a manufacturer of storage solutions for pickup trucks. Participants will see a demonstration of how rotomolding works and hear marketing tips from owner Dan Oren that have helped the company expand sales internationally.

Following the general meeting, Mark Nicholson, president of Lean Manufacturing, will lead the Tri-State Quality Council. This meeting will run from 9:30 to 11 a.m. with a presentation about “A3, Toyota’s Problem Solving Method.” The Quality Council meeting is open to members and non-members at no cost.

Tri-State Manufacturers’ Association (TSMA) is a membership-based organization serving manufacturers and related industries in west central Minnesota and eastern North and South Dakota.
