High flying action on L'Homme Dieu

Area wake boarders compete in tour on Lake L'Homme Dieu

Dozens of wake boarders and spectators flocked to the public beach on Lake L’Homme Dieu for the Shred 101 and Faction Board Shop’s Minnesota Wake Board Tour stop in Alexandria on August 8.

Boarders did not let the potential rain in the forecast dampen their day as talent from all corners of Minnesota came out to compete. Stop four of the tournament series saw riders compete in classes ranging from beginner to the almost pro level, outlaw.

Alexandria’s beginning rider, Frankie Jost, competed early in the competition and posted a stand up run to help her clinch the win. She was not only the competition’s youngest rider but the only female in the event.

Alex Marine, Mike Liddle and Jade Whirley, all from the Minneapolis area, joined her on the podium after near flawless runs.

Alexandria’s Faction Board Shop handed out a handful gifts and prizes and invited all the competitors to Bug-A-Boo-Bay afterward. Thousands of dollars worth of prizes were passed out to the crowd throughout the rest of the night from Faction and Shred 101.
