Lipizzaner Stallions to perform in Alexandria

The World Famous Lipizzaner Stallions proudly present its 40th anniversary tour with a presentation of the Dancing White Stallions.

The Lipizzaner Stallions will be at the Runestone Community Center on Sunday, September 6. The show is set to start at 1 p.m.

Regular admission adult tickets are $22.50 each. For children 12 and younger and seniors 60 and older, regular admission tickets are $20.50 each.

The World Famous Lipizzaner Stallions will perform a graceful dance highlighted by spectacular leaps and maneuvers known as the “Airs Above the Ground,” which were born on the battlefield.

While performing traditional movements and exercises from the Spanish Riding School of Vienna, the World Famous Lipizzaner Stallions maintain a classical presentation of Lipizzaner.

Lipizzaner stallions are long-lived with an average life span of 30-35 years. They are usually born black and slowly change through a period of six to 10 years to their final, pure white color.

There are six significant bloodlines in today’s Lipizzaner breed, which originate as far back as 1765.
