Pohlig is national water ski champion

Former Alexandrian Jeff Pohlig recently won his first title in the 67th National Water Ski Championships at Okeeheelee Park in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Former Alexandrian Jeff Pohlig recently won his first title in the 67th National Water Ski Championships at Okeeheelee Park in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Pohlig competed in the Men’s II (ages 25-34) trick and jump events, going into the tournament ranked No. 1 in his division. His winning jump was 178 feet.

He also placed seventh in the Men’s II trick division.

Holly Pohlig finished third in the Women’s II trick competition at the national event, improving in her No. 6 ranking.

Advancement to the national tournament is earned by placement on a national ranking list from scores earned in local, state and regional competitions.

The national tournament is the world’s largest three day event and included nearly 800 competitors.
