Letter - Hats off to county public worksThey didn’t ask to move, they didn’t have to move, but they did so to accommodate the jail taking their building.
To the editor:
They didn’t ask to move, they didn’t have to move, but they did so to accommodate the jail taking their building. When we weren’t allowed to put the new jail at the fairgrounds, we were requested by law enforcement to put the jail where the Public Works building was.
The entire staff at Douglas County Public Works should be commended for an outstanding job of moving to their new location at the fairgrounds. They worked with the construction management company and architects for the new plans, packed and moved the entire operation in record time. It was one of the smoothest moves ever and the new location will accommodate them for decades.
A big thank you to Dave Robley and his staff for the excellent job they did – without interruption of service to Douglas County.
Bev Bales, Douglas County Commissioner
