Kids fishing rodeo set for August 15

A kids’ fishing rodeo will take place in conjunction with the crappie fishing tournament planned for this weekend.

The fishing rodeo is set for Saturday, August 15 at the access on Lake Agnes, across from the Depot, in Alexandria. Registration will take place from 8 to 9 a.m. with the event to run from 9 to 11 a.m.

The participant with the most fish will win a prize. In addition, there will be prizes for each participant.

One lucky child will also win a free entry into next year’s main event tournament, where they will get to fish in hopes of winning thousands of dollars.

Prizes are sponsored by Crappie Masters, fishing industry sponsors and local communities.
