Crash near Willmar sends Brooten woman to hospital

A 28-year-old Brooten woman was taken by ambulance to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar for treatment of injuries suffered in a rear-end type crash around 8 a.m. Monday along state Highway 40 near Kandiyohi County Road 5.

WILLMAR — A 28-year-old Brooten woman was taken by ambulance to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar for treatment of injuries suffered in a rear-end type crash around 8 a.m. Monday along state Highway 40 near Kandiyohi County Road 5.

According to the State Patrol, Jessica R. Strodtman was driving a 2002 Volvo sedan that was struck by a 2002 Ford Taurus driven by Judy Ellingson, 50, of Sunburg. Ellingson was not injured.

Both vehicles were eastbound on Highway 40 at the time of the crash. No citations were issued and both vehicles were towed from the scene.
