Legion falls in battle for state tournament berth

The Alexandria Legion fell to Willmar 13-10 in the District 7 baseball championship Sunday.

Alexandria, which led 9-0 after five innings over Willmar, lost its bid for a state tournament berth in the District 7 Legion playoffs Sunday as Willmar rallied to score 12 runs in the top of the sixth inning for a 13-10 victory.

This is the fourth straight year that Willmar has beaten Alexandria in the district final.
