It’s rare to catch a glimpse of badgers in the daytime or even at night but Karin Anderson of Farwell came across these badger pups playing by their den while their mother was out hunting. “Badgers eat a lot of ground squirrels, gophers and mice so most people like having them around,” Anderson said. Kids along Lake Mary Drive had fun feeding an apple to a deer that wandered out of the woods. Sy Lucas took a photo of the deer, which appeared to be tame – maybe because of the treats it was getting.
