The annual Friends of the Library used book sale is coming up soon, Thursday, August 6. The biggest news about the sale this year is the change of location.
The book sale will be held at the National Guard Armory at 311 Broadway in downtown Alexandria. It is usually held in the gym right next to the library, but we have changed the location for this year, so mark it on your calendar.
The sale will again be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
A variety of books and other media will be available. Paperbacks, hard covers, non-print, audio books, fiction, non-fiction and children’s books will be for sale.
Prices are $1 hard covers and 50 cents for paperbacks. A bag sale will take place after 5 p.m. for $3 per bag.
We do accept audio cassettes and video cassettes and DVDs for the sale. Donated items can be brought to the library during library hours prior to August 6.
The library hours are Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
If you need help getting your used books to the library, call us at (320) 762-3014 and we will arrange for pick up.
Douglas County Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will provide partial matching funds. We look forward to seeing everyone again at the sale on Thursday, August 6.
The library is looking for storage for extra steel shelving. We are planning to use it in the future and need to store it until it is needed. If you have space available, call the library at (320) 762-3014.
