Crowds go 'hog wild' over United Way event
More than 2,000 people went hog wild for the United Way at a three-day Rib Fest July 9-11 at Pete’s County Market in Alexandria.
More than 2,000 people went hog wild for the United Way at a three-day Rib Fest July 9-11 at Pete’s County Market in Alexandria.
Rib lovers lined up to eat Rose City Barbecue’s ribs and corn at Pete’s County Market. All profits support the programs of United Way.
On Saturday, the Freedom One Riders and their friends met at Pete’s for a motorcycle rally and returned to Pete’s at the end of the ride for ribs and corn.
Sixty-two bikes showed up on Saturday from the Freedom First Riders
United Way thanks all those who came to have ribs and the volunteers who helped make this possible.
The event was sponsored by Pete’s County Market, Coca-Cola, Rose City Barbecue, KIKV, KXRA, Echo Press, Pro-Maintenance and Old Dutch.
United Way of Douglas and Pope Counties impacts lives locally by providing resources to support programs for improved education, health and income. United Way is a nonprofit organization that mobilizes our community to create sustained change.
Contributions will be used to help residents in Douglas and Pope counties.
