Celebrate Recovery, a Christ-centered recovery program, will host a community family barbecue picnic at 6 p.m., Monday, July 20 at the upper picnic shelter at Alexandria City Park.

Anyone struggling with a hurt, hang-up or habit or who loves someone who struggles is welcome to attend. Meat will be provided; bring a side dish to share. For more information on the picnic or on Celebrate Recovery, call Sue or Steve at (320) 763-5659 or e-mail ecc@alexandriacovenant.org.

Celebrate Recovery will meet Monday evenings in July and August with a simple summer schedule including a men’s general-issue group and a women’s general-issue group at 6:30 p.m. at Alexandria Covenant Church.

Celebrate Recovery will launch its fall schedule on Monday, September 14 with a barbecue supper at 6 p.m., large group celebration with teaching, worship and faith stories at 6:30 p.m., issue-specific open share small groups for men and women at 7:30 p.m., followed by coffee, dessert and fellowship in the Solid Rock Café at 8:30 p.m.

Celebrate Recovery provides fellowship and celebrates God’s healing power for people with a variety of hurts, hang-ups and habits, encouraging people to step out of denial and into God’s grace.

Using eight recovery principles found in Jesus’ Beatitudes and Christ-centered 12 steps, as people work and apply these principles, they begin to grow spiritually and find freedom from addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors.

Many participants find peace, serenity and joy, as well as a stronger personal relationship with God and others.
