UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS

ALEXANDRIA, MINNESOTA

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the Alexandria Housing and Redevelopment Authority, at the Alexandria City Hall, 704 Broadway, Alexandria, Minnesota, until 10:00 A.M., July 14, 2009 at which time all bids will be opened and read aloud for the furnishing of all materials, skill, labor and all else necessary for the Street and Utility Improvements, The Trails, Third Addition project in Alexandria, Minnesota.

Major items include the following approximate quantities:

1500 CY – Common Excavation

420 Ton – Type SP 12.5 Bituminous Mix

1822 LF – Concrete Curb and Gutter

490 LF – RC Pipe Sewer

513 LF – 8” PVC Sanitary Sewer

818 LF – 8” PVC Watermain

Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or a bidders bond acceptable to the Alexandria Housing and Redevelopment Authority in an amount of at least five (5%) percent of the total amount of the bid, payable without condition to the Alexandria Housing and Redevelopment Authority. In case the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract or to give bond as required by law within the specified number of days after the award of the contract, such check or bond shall be forfeited as liquidated damages.

Copies of the Plans and Specifications are on file and may be seen at Widseth Smith Nolting & Associates, Inc., 610 Fillmore St., Alexandria, Minnesota, upon deposit of $50.00 which is not refundable.

All bids must be submitted on the official forms, prepared by the Engineer for that purpose. Bids shall be directed to the Alexandria Housing and Redevelopment Authority, securely sealed and endorsed upon the outside with a brief statement as to the work for which the bid is made.

The Alexandria Housing and Redevelopment Authority reserves the right to hold all bids for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled closing time set for receiving bids and to reject any and all bids and to award the contract as the Alexandria Housing and Redevelopment Authority deems in their best interest.
